စိတ္ ( The Mind )

• ကာမဂုဏ္အာ႐ံု၌ တုန္လႈပ္တတ္ေသာ ၊ အာ႐ံုတစ္ခုတည္း၌ မတည္တံ့ႏိုင္သျဖင့္ လွ်ပ္ေပါ့ေသာ ၊ ကာမဂုဏ္အာ႐ံုသုိ႔ မသြားေအာင္ ေစာင့္စည္းႏုိင္ခဲ ၊ တားဆီးႏိုင္ခဲေသာ စိတ္ကုိ (ေလးသမားသည္ ျမားေကာက္ကုိ တျဖည္းျဖည္း ေျဖာင့္သကဲ့သုိ႔ ) ပညာ႐ွိသည္ သမထ ၀ိပႆနာဉာဏ္ျဖင့္ တျဖည္းျဖည္း ေျဖာင့္ေလ၏ ။
  Just as a fletcher straightens an arrow shaft, even so the discerning man straightens his mind so fickle and unsteady, so difficult to guard and control.

• ငါးသည္ ေရမွ ဆယ္ယူ၍ ကုန္းေပၚသုိ႔ ပစ္လိုက္သည့္အခါ လြန္႔လ်က္တုန္ တေဆြ႕ေဆြ႕ခုန္သကဲ့သုိ႔ ၊ ကာမဂုဏ္၌ ေပ်ာ္ပါးက်က္စားေနက်ျဖစ္ေသာ စိတ္သည္ ကိေလသာကင္းရန္ ကာမဂုဏ္တည္းဟူေသာ ေရမွ ထုတ္၍ ကမၼ႒ာန္းဘာ၀နာတည္းဟူေသာ ကုန္းေပၚသုိ႔ တင္လုိက္သည့္အခါ တုန္တုန္လႈပ္လႈပ္ ျဖစ္ေလ၏။
  As a fish when pulled out of water and cast on land throbs and quivers, even so is this mind agitated. Hence should one abandon the realm of Mara.
• ႏွိမ္နင္းရန္ခဲယဥ္း ၊ အျဖစ္အပ်က္ အလြန္ျမန္ ၊ မ်ိဳးႏြယ္ နိမ့္ျမင့္ သင့္ မသင့္ကုိ ခ်င့္တြက္မ႐ွိ ေတြ႕မိေတြ႕ရာ ကာမဂုဏ္၌ က်ေရာက္ေလ့႐ွိေသာ စိတ္ကုိ ဆံုးမျခင္းသည္ အလြန္ေကာင္းျမတ္၏ ၊ ဆံုးမ၍ ယဥ္ေက်းေသာ စိတ္သည္ ခ်မ္းသာကုိ ေဆာင္တတ္၏ ။
  Wonderful, indeed, it is to subdue the mind, so difficult to subdue, ever swift, and seizing whater it desires. A tamed mind brings happiness.
• ႏွိမ္နင္းရန္ခဲယဥ္း ၊ အျဖစ္အပ်က္ အလြန္ျမန္ ၊ မ်ိဳးႏြယ္ နိမ့္ျမင့္ သင့္ မသင့္ကုိ ခ်င့္တြက္မ႐ွိ ေတြ႕မိေတြ႕ရာ ကာမဂုဏ္၌ က်ေရာက္ေလ့႐ွိေသာ စိတ္ကုိ ပညာ႐ွိသည္ ေစာင့္ေ႐ွာက္ရာ၏ ။ လံုျခံဳစြာ ေစာင့္ေ႐ွာက္အပ္ေသာ စိတ္သည္ ခ်မ္းသာကုိ ေဆာင္တတ္၏ ။
  Let the discerning man guard the mind, so difficult to detect and extremely subtle, seizing whatever it desires. A guarded mind brings happiness.
• စိတ္သည္ အေ၀း၌႐ွိေသာ အာ႐ံုသုိ႔လည္း သြားတတ္၏ ၊ တစ္ခုျပီး တစ္ခု ျဖစ္တတ္၏ ။ အေကာင္အထည္ဟူ၍လည္း မ႐ွိ။ ဟဒယ၀တၱဳ ႏွလံုးတည္းဟူေသာ လိုဏ္ဥမင္ကုိ မွီ၍ ျဖစ္ေပၚ၏။ ဤစိတ္ကုိ လံုျခံဳစြာ ေစာင့္ေရွာက္ကုန္ေသာ သူတုိ႔သည္ မာရ္နတ္မင္း၏ အေႏွာင္အဖြဲ႔တည္းဟူေသာ ဆင္းရဲမွ လြတ္ေျမာက္ကုန္၏။
  Dwelling in the cave ( of the heart ), the mind, withiout form, wanders far and alone. Those who subdue this mind are liberated from the bonds of Mara.
• တည္တံ့ေသာ စိတ္လည္းမ႐ွိ ၊ သူေတာ္ေကာင္းတရားကုိလည္း မသိ၊ ယံုၾကည္ျခင္းတည္းဟူေသာ သဒၶါတရားလည္း မခိုင္မာေသာသူမွာ ေလာကီ ၊ ေလာကုတၱရာပညာ မျပည့္စံုေလ။
  Wisdom never becomes perfect in one whose mind is not steadfast, who knows not the Good Teaching and whose faith wavers.
• ရာဂျဖင့္ မစြတ္ေသာ စိတ္လည္း႐ွိ ၊ ေဒါသျဖင့္မထိပါးေသာ စိတ္လည္း႐ွိ ၊ ေကာင္းမႈ မေကာင္းမႈကုိ ပယ္ျပီး၍ ေမာဟတည္းဟူေသာ အိပ္ေပ်ာ္ျခင္းမွလည္း ႏိုးေသာသူမွာ ေၾကာက္စရာ ေဘးမ႐ွိ ။
  There is no fear for an awakened one, whose mind is not sodden ( by lust ) nor afflicated ( by hate ) , and who has gone beyond both merit and demerit.
• ဤခႏၶာကုိယ္သည္ အိုးႏွင့္တူစြာ ၾကာၾကာမတည္ ပ်က္စီးတတ္သည္ဟု သိ၍ မိိမိစိတ္ကုိ ရန္သူ မ၀င္ႏိုင္ေအာင္ လံုျခံဳစြာ ကာကြယ္ေစာင့္ေ႐ွာက္ေသာ ျမိဳ႕ႏွင့္ ပမာျပဳ၍ ေစာင့္ေရွာက္ျပီးလွ်င္ ပညာတည္းဟူေသာ လက္နက္ျဖင့္ ကိေလသာမာရ္ ရန္သူအေပါင္းကုိ စစ္ထိုးရာ၏၊ ေအာင္ျမင္၍ ရျပီးေသာ ဉာဏ္ကုိလည္း မပ်က္ေအာင္ ေစာင့္ေ႐ွာက္ရာ၏ ။ ရျပီးေသာ ခ်မ္းသာကုိ သာယာကပ္ၿငိ၍ မေနရာ ။
  Realizing that this body is as fragile as a clay pot, and fortifying this mind like a well-fortified city, fight out Mara with the sword of wisdom. Then, guarding the conquest, remain unattached.
• ဤခႏၶာကုိယ္သည္ မၾကာျမင့္မီ​ ၀ိဉာဥ္ကင္း၍ စြန္႔ပစ္ရမည့္ အေျခအေနသုိ႔ ေရာက္ျပီးလွ်င္ အသံုးမက်ေသာ ထင္းတံုးကဲ့သုိ႔ ေျမ၌ တံုးလံုး အိပ္ရလတၱံ။
  Ere long, alas! This body will lie upon the earth, unheeded and lifeless, like a useless log.
• ခိုးသူ တစ္ေယာက္သည္ မိမိကုိ ျပစ္မွားလြန္က်ဴးဖူးေသာ ခိုးသူတစ္ေယာက္ကုိ ျမင္သည္႐ွိေသာ္ သို႔မဟုတ္ ရန္သူတစ္ေယာက္သည္ ရန္ဘက္တစ္ဦးကုိ ျမင္သည္႐ွိေသာ္ အက်ိဳးမဲ့ ဖ်က္ဆီးျခင္းကုိ ျပဳရာ၏ ၊ ( သုိ႔ရာတြင္ ဤတစ္ဘ၀တြင္သာ ျပဳႏိုင္၏၊ ) ယုတ္မာသျဖင့္ ရန္ျငိဳးထားေသာ စိတ္သည္ကား ( ခုဘ၀ ၊ ေနာင္ဘ၀တုိ႔၌ အက်ိဳးေပးတတ္သျဖင့္ ) သာ၍ပင္ အက်ိဳးမဲ့ ဖ်က္ဆီးျခင္းကုိ ျပဳႏိုင္၏ ။
  Whatever harm an enemy may do to an enemy, or a hater to a hater, an ill-directed mind inflicts on oneself a greater harm.
• နတ္ခ်မ္းသာ၊ စ်ာန္သမာပတ္ခ်မ္းသာ ၊ နိဗၺာန္ခ်မ္းသာကုိ မိခင္သည္လည္း မေပးႏုိင္ ၊ ဖခင္သည္လည္း မေပးႏုိင္ ၊ ေဆြးမ်ိဳးတုိ႔သည္လည္း မေပးႏုိင္ ၊ ေကာင္းစြာ ေစာင့္ေ႐ွာက္ ေဆာက္တည္အပ္ေသာ စိတ္သည္သာလွ်င္ မိဘေဆြမ်ိဳးထက္ ပုိလြန္၍ လူ၊ နတ္ ၊ နိဗၺာန္သံုးတန္ေသာ ခ်မ္းသာကုိ ေပးႏုိင္၏။
  Neither mother, father, nor any other relative can do one greater good than one’s own well-directed mind.
