Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?
On Tuesday the 12th of January, as part of the Bangkok International Buddhist Film Festival, Hyaedan Sunim, the senior nun at the Bangkok Hanmaum Seonwon (One-mind Zen Centre), will be a special guest at the showing of the 1989 Korean film 'Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?'
The festival, part two of a two-year series produced by John Solt of Highmoonoon, is being held from the 11th to the 27th of January, with all screenings starting at 1pm in the excellent facilities of the Pridi Banomyong Library in the Tha Phra Chan campus of Thammasat University.
Details of the entire three-week programme can be found in the first link below, but certainly the showing of 'Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?', and the chance to discuss the film with a Korean Zen monk, is one of its many highlights, and certainly one not to be missed.
